Fourteen-year-old pianist Anwen Deng was born in Brisbane, Australia. She began her piano study at the age of three and was accepted into the Juilliard School pre-college program at the age of six. Anwen is the recipient of top prizes in numerous national and international piano competitions. At the age of ten, Anwen was invited to perform with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. She has since performed with the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra, the Little Orchestra Society of New York, the Aspen Chamber Symphony and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, Anwen is also studying composition at Juilliard.
