Yaacov Fakiro is a fourth-year medical student at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine. Born in Israel, he moved with his family at a young age to Brooklyn, New York, where he was raised. He completed his undergraduate studies at Touro College in Los Angeles, earning a degree in psychology with a concentration in health sciences, while also achieving Rabbinical Ordination.

During medical school, Yaacov served as president of the Jewish Student Association during his first two years and remained actively involved in a variety of student-led initiatives. He dedicated significant time to tutoring first- and second-year medical students, helping them navigate the academic and personal challenges of medical training. Beyond tutoring, Yaacov is deeply committed to mentorship, guiding premedical and medical students through their educational and professional journeys and fostering an environment of support, growth, and lifelong learning.

Yaacov has applied for residency training and is currently awaiting Match results as he prepares to begin the next phase of his medical career. He remains passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate care and contributing meaningfully to the medical community. He aspires to be a physician who not only provides excellent clinical care but also serves as a role model, mentor, and advocate, empowering patients to better understand and manage their health.

Outside of medicine, Yaacov enjoys practicing Muay Thai, hiking, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends.
