Claudia Zimmerman is a 25-year-old Los Angeles native preparing to begin the next chapter of her career as a physician assistant student at Stanford University. Claudia holds two prior degrees from Stanford, a B.S. in Bioengineering and an M.S. in Biology. She is extremely excited to return to a place she called home for so many years.
Claudia originally attended university with the plan of creating medical devices in the biotech industry. However, through a combination of the COVID-19 pandemic and being diagnosed with two autoimmune conditions, she realized that she would rather pursue a career in healthcare where she could engage directly in close personal interactions with patients in need. During the past 2 years, Claudia immersed herself into roles which provided her with in-depth healthcare exposure. She became a hospital volunteer, a certified nurse assistant (CNA), and worked with patients young and old, with conditions ranging from stroke rehabilitation, genetic conditions, oncology care, etc. Something that really resonated with her was working with patients who have autoimmune conditions and she is excited to explore rheumatology more when she starts PA school in the fall of ‘26.
Outside of her studies, Claudia is a true LA girl and loves TV and movies. She also loves trivia, hiking, travel, and hanging out with her best friends.
