Hillary Delin, a Southern California native, is dedicated to lifelong learning, inquiry, and service. She is currently a first-year student in the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) program at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Before attending USC, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) with double minors in Medical Anthropology and Public Health from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Her medical anthropology and public health minors were augmented with a study abroad trip to South America. The transformative experiences were realistic and authentic. They expanded her commitment to cultural sensitivity and enhanced her competence for working with subcultures of diverse patient populations.

In the midst of the worldwide pandemic, she began Stanford Health Care’s New Graduate Nursing Residency/Critical Care Training Program in the Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU). She gained invaluable opportunities to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, incorporate breakthrough evidence into practice, and build connections with diverse populations.

Hillary advocates for evidence-based research to refine healthcare practices and improve patient outcomes. Her doctoral capstone project is on Suzetrigine—the first non-opioid analgesic (pain medication) approved by the FDA in over two decades. With more widespread use, the goal is to reduce the ongoing use of medications leading to the opioid public health crisis. Hillary stated, “My core is filled with authenticity, empathy, and compassion. As a professional nurse and future nurse anesthesiologist, I will continue to provide honorable, dignified experiences for patients, families, and communities.”

Outside of school, Hillary enjoys fashion, art, the beach, and Pilates.
