Under the tutelage of Robert McDonald, Xiong is now a well-known fixture at many festivals and competitions. Xiong enjoys performing and sharing his music with others.
Born in Nanping City, Fujian China, Jiancheng Xiong’s life at the keyboard began at age 3 when he gained entrance to the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music in 2005. He then studied with Aiping Jin, Yong Hi Moon, and Chenxin Xu prior to entering The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia in 2011. Xiong was a Prize Winner of the 2016 New York International Piano Competition. Under the tutelage of Robert McDonald, Xiong is now a well-known fixture at many festivals and competitions. Xiong enjoys performing and sharing his music with others. In addition to his multiple appearances at the Aspen Music Festival, Xiong has performed at Carnegie Hall in NYC and Cortot Hall in Paris, France.
