Jordana Gotlieb, a University of Arizona alumna, is excited to return to Tucson as a member of the inaugural Master of Physician Assistant Studies cohort. She earned her Bachelor of Medical Science with a major in Physiology and a minor in Public Health.
Her passion for healthcare began through biomedical engineering, where she developed an assistive technology navigational device for individuals with visual impairments. Later, after working with a harm reduction team, she discovered a passion for building meaningful patient relationships and pursuing a career in direct patient care.
At the start of the pandemic, Jordana began working as a medical scribe at Banner Hospital where she trained alongside physicians and residents while participating in research, case-based discussions, department conferences, clinical and procedural education. These experiences strengthened her knowledge and commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
She later became a medical scribe supervisor, training more than 300 employees across 18 specialties. Through this leadership role, she developed a passion for teaching and aspires to one day return as faculty to educate future healthcare providers.
Jordana values shared decision-making and strives to understand each patient’s goals, concerns, and cultural values to provide individualized care. Her clinical interests include reconstructive surgery for autoimmune deformities of hands and feet.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys playing tennis at the JCC, hiking, swimming, and rock climbing.
