Joshua Rouimi is a first-year medical student at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. Raised in the Conejo Valley, he completed his undergraduate studies at California State University, Long Beach, where he earned a degree in Biology. His journey into medicine is guided by the principle of tikkun olam and a deep-seated commitment to community service.
Joshua has long been dedicated to mentorship and service-led initiatives. He serves as a tutor, a role he views as an extension of his responsibility to support and uplift others; by helping peers navigate academic challenges, he fosters an environment of collaborative growth and lifelong learning. Beyond the classroom, he remains active in community service, volunteering his time to address food insecurity and support vulnerable individuals, always striving to recognize and honor the inherent dignity of every person.
Joshua brings a robust clinical background to his medical training, having served as an EMT and an Emergency Room Technician in Southern California. In these roles, he provided care for diverse and underserved populations, including unhoused and undocumented patients. He remains passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate care and intends to dedicate his career to serving in areas of need. He aspires to be a physician who not only treats illness but also focuses on restoring dignity and trust for those who face the greatest barriers to healthcare.
Outside of medicine, Joshua is a jazz musician and enjoys spending his free time recharging in the outdoors, finding that these creative and physical outlets keep him grounded as he navigates his medical training.
