Nina Hoffer will be graduating with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a specialty in Nurse Midwifery from Seattle University in 2025, following her childhood dream of delivering babies. In her first years as a nurse, Nina worked at a Feminist Women’s Health Center, providing reproductive healthcare services to primarily uninsured, Medicaid, and low-income populations in Washington. Her Doctor of Nursing practice project focuses on expanding Papanicolaou (pap) test rates in family planning clinics to identify abnormal cervical cells to prevent cervical cancer. She is completing a university-led educational service trip to Guatemala with the nonprofit organization Nursing Heart to provide primary care and cervical cancer screenings to underserved populations in rural Guatemala.

Nina acted as the first Vice President of the student organization Students for Reproductive Justice and has acted as her midwifery cohort student representative for two consecutive years, honoring the relationship between community, social justice, and reproductive health and wellness. Her healthcare passions lie in low-intervention birth, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and preventative reproductive healthcare, to provide safe and brave spaces to empower individuals in their reproductive journeys. In her free time, Nina enjoys making pottery on the wheel, crafting, baking, and exploring Washington with friends.
