On February 14, 2023, leaders from the Simms/Family Foundation and Cedars-Sinai gathered to celebrate the dedication of the Simms/Mann Endowed Chair in Nurse Education, Innovation and Research.
Although the endowment gift was pledged in December 2019 and the chair dedicated in 2020, the official dedication and celebration was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Margo Minissian, PhD, RN, is the inaugural Simms/Mann chairholder. Dr. Minissian oversees nursing education, research, and performance improvement for Cedars-Sinai.
Dr. Minissian completed a biological research PhD at the UCLA School of Nursing where she was the UCLA Dean’s Scholar Fellow and Regents Scholar. Dr. Minissian’s research focuses on cardiovascular prevention with an emphasis on young women who experience severe preterm delivery and preeclampsia.
