United Hatzalah of Israel is the largest non-profit, fully volunteer Emergency Medical Service organization to use motorcycle ambulances (“ambucycles”) to more rapidly save lives throughout Israel and around the world. United Hatzalah’s service is available to all people regardless of race, religion, or national origin. The organization has more than 6,200 volunteers around the country, available around the clock—24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The mission of United Hatzalah is to arrive at the crisis scene as soon as possible and provide appropriate medical aid until an ambulance arrives, resulting in many more lives saved. With the help of unique GPS technology and its iconic ambucycles, United Hatzalah’s average response time is less than 3 minutes, and only 90 seconds in metropolitan areas. The support of the Simms/Mann Family Foundation has enabled United Hatzalah to add additional ambucycles to its fleet.
